I have always read the Bible and been a part of a few different religions that teach about God, his Son and the Holy Spirit throughout my life. After watching this series with my family and a dear friend, I am blown away! I am in awe with how amazing the series is! The Chosen is a great series that truly brings the Bible to life in a way no other show or movie about the Bible has ever done before.
What is The Chosen? It is a historical drama based on the life of Jesus, seen through the eyes of those who knew Him. The show has been made available into 20 different languages and they have more coming soon. It is now one of the most watched TV Series across the Globe and has been streamed by more than 172 million people.
Religion Isn’t a Factor with This Show
I don’t want to debate the differences of various religions that surround the Holy Bible. This show isn’t meant to teach religion or the laws of the Bible. It is a crowdfunded project that is meant to simply share the life of Jesus. And after watching this series and reading the Bible throughout my life, I can say I have a greater understanding of some of the books I’ve read over and over again. The creators of the show aren’t trying to push “religion” on anybody. It’s truly about sharing the life, love and hope of Jesus.
Seeing This Series Has Had a HUGE Impact on My Family
We had a close family friend (who is really more like family) invite us to watch this series. We planed a day every other week or so and had lunch after church to watch an episode or 2. At the time my husband didn’t believe in God, but we loved spending time with her and he decided we would plan it out to watch the series with her. For a few months we would go to our friend’s house and have a watch party of the Chosen Series. I was so excited, because I heard a lot of great things about the show.
As we were watching Season 1 my kids had a better understanding of what they’ve been learning in church, through Youth Group and what our family has been teaching them about our beliefs throughout their lives. Books of the Bible that we’ve read over and over started to make more sense, and come to life for them. I even notice that I have a better understanding of these books in the Bible that I’ve read. It felt more tangible. And that’s not even the best part. The series is starting to speak to my husband! I can’t even tell you how happy this makes me! He starting to understand my faith and love for Jesus.
The Chosen- A TV Series With a Purpose
The creators of this show have a great love and passion for Jesus. It shows with the work they have done and are trying to do. The Chosen is a Crowdfunded project, this is how they are able to stream it for FREE across the Globe. The want to spread the message of who Jesus is and what he is all about. They have a goal to translate the series into 600 languages, so they can share the series Globally. After watching what the series has done for my family, and how it has touched my family, I understand their mission. And if you haven’t seen the series, I HIGHLY suggest that you check it out!
We Can Help With Their Mission
As a Crowdfunded project, they can only do what they do through donations. They have had to delay the streaming of Season 4 for a few reasons. One being funding. Yes the series is free to watch. But they aren’t a big studio with unlimited funds. They still have employees and are a company that still have expenses in order to get the message out that they are trying to get out.
