I don’t know about you but this last year has me missing fair and amusement park food! Yes I know it’s not the healthiest food but when you’re at a fair, carnival, festival or amusement park it just enhances the experience. The 2 foods I miss the most from these places are the fresh hot Churros and funnel cakes! But now I’ve found a way to make Churros at home.
We’ve tried to make funnel cakes at home and though they were good they just didn’t taste the same. My family’s favorite is Churros. They are perfect when they are hot and had the cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on right away so that it’s just slightly caramelized on the Churro.
The Versatility of Churros
I’ve looked up different recipes and ways for making this family favorite and a tool to help me make them. I found a lot of ways to make these. They can have different spices mixed with the cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. Such as adding a little Himalain Pink Salt, red pepper or Cayenne.
Plus you can make ones that are filled! Personally I love one with raspberry filling, it just goes so well with the cinnamon and sugar on top. But the filling options you can use are amazing. You can also flavor the dough before frying them. Just imagine how delicious a Pumpkin Churro with cream filling would be with the cinnamon and sugar topping to pull it all together!
There are also a variety of dips you can get or make for these delicious snacks. Such as Cream cheese icing mixed with a fruit topping. Or melted Dark Chocolate to elevate this fun dessert.

There are so many ways to enjoy and make Churros at home. From barbeques and taco night to movie night. Or even an evening with your significant other, they really can go with any occasion. I like to get chocolate dip for the Churros and pair it with my favorite Cabernet Sauvignon while enjoying next to a fire on a cool summer night.
