Raspberry and Chocolate Wontons

Raspberry and Chocolate wontons are so simple and yet so elegant. When I first saw these I was already excited, but as usual I had to put my own twist on them. Raspberry and white chocolate is my favorite fruit and chocolate combination. But this was too good to just use the white chocolate on it’s own. So I decided that I would use both white chocolate and dark chocolate. And it turned out amazing!! But to each his own, and as my dad has said since I was a kid…….”play with your food and make it your own.” So that’s what I do now. I find a recipe and I play with the ingredients until I’ve made it to my or my family’s own tasting.

This decadent treat is sure to impress anyone and turn any dessert into an event! They look and taste so elegant that anyone would think they are more complicated to make than they actually are. It’s really simple actually and only calls for a few ingredients.

raspberry chocolate wontons

What You’ll need:

  • Frying pan
  • Metal Tongs
  • 1/2 cup Coconut Oil or Vegetable Oil
  • Wonton Wrappers or egg roll wraps
  • Fresh Raspberries
  • Water with a little bit of sugar mixed in
  • White Chocolate Chips and
  • Milk or Dark Chocolate Chips (or just one or the other according to your taste)
  • Optional- Powdered Sugar
  • Optional Chocolate Syrup

How To Make the Raspberry and Chocolate Wontons:

  1. First put the oil you are using in the frying pan and turn it on medium to start heating up the oil.
  2. While the oil is melting and heating get out the wonton wraps, raspberries chocolate chips and a small cup with water mixed with a little sugar.
  3. Lay out a wrap and place 2-3 raspberries and 4-6 chocolate chips on one side of the wrap.
  4. Then dip your finger in the water and rub it along the edges of the wrap and fold together to form a triangle. Slightly pinch together to keep it closed.
  5. Keep doing this until you have as many as you want or run out of raspberries and Chocolate chips.
  6. Once you have all your wontons prepared, check to make sure your oil is hot enough, turn up the heat if needed.
  7. Place 2-4 wontons in the pan at a time and fry until golden brown, flipping over half way through to brown both sides. It takes about 1-1 1/2 minutes.
  8. Once done place on a tray or plate covered with paper towels to soak up the extra oil.
  9. Allow to cool slightly then transfer to a serving plate or tray and lightly dust with Powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.
  10. Serve and enjoy with a glass of Fine Wine. I recommend the Discoveries Grenache. It really brings out the chocolate flavor and enhances the dessert!
