Growing up some of my best memories are cooking with my family. My parents loved trying new recipes and putting new spins on old family recipes. My dad used to say “ Play with your food, that’s how you find recipes you like”. And believe me it was a lot of fun! So through a lot of trial and error I’ve gained a handful of my favorite recipes. And now I want to share some of my favorite easy recipes with you.
One of my love languages is food, so naturally cooking for my family and friends is one of the ways I show them how much I love them. A lot of the recipes I’ve made started as an old family favorite or one I modified from another recipe I’ve come across to make it to our taste. Now I want to share them with you. If you don’t like it after you try a recipe then I encourage you to “Play with your food” and make it your own!
Breakfast Ideas

Appetizers and Main Dishes
Cheesy Lemon Artichoke Chicken-
Lemon Chicken of any kind has always been one of my favorite dinners. So much so that I’ve tried making it at least 10 different ways with different combinations. And honestly there hasn’t been a variation of lemon chicken that I haven’t liked! But this one is definitely my family’s favorite. It’s a one pan dish loaded with lemons, cheese and artichoke. Check it out HERE!
Sweet and Tangy Shrimp Kabobs-
This recipe can be used as an appetizer or a main dish. Just put it on top of salad and enjoy it on a hot summer day for your main dish. This one is a great recipe for a BBQ or family get together. A few years ago a friend and I would make this all the time at a BBQ. For those that aren’t fans of shrimp you can substitute with chicken and it’s just as delicious. Get the recipe HERE.
Homemade Sloppy Joes
This has become a favorite in my house. I used to make the classic Manwich Sloppy Joes but wanted a healthier option for my family. Plus I got pretty burnt out on it. So I did some research on homemade recipes and played around with them until I came up with one that fits my families tastes. This is way better than the sauce in a can by far! Check out the recipe HERE.
Sicilian Meatloaf
This one sounds more complicated than it is. It’s The only way I make meatloaf these days. And it’s one that most of my family loves. (I do have a picky eater or two) For a foodie at heart, this is a must try! It’s so good and there are a few ways you can serve this dish. But no matter how you decide to serve it, it will be great! Check out this recipe HERE.
Easy Recipes: Desserts
Red Wine Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Chocolate dipped strawberries are one of my favorite recipes! It’s so easy to make and there’s a few ways to decorate them. My favorite way to decorate them is making them look like tuxedos. But when I learned that you could add Red Wine to them I was intrigued. It’s so simple and soaking the strawberries in red wine for a few hours really gives it an amazing richness and makes an already delectable dessert even better. See the recipe and how to decorate them like tuxedos HERE.
Raspberry and Chocolate Wontons
When I first saw this recipe I thought that it looked too exquisite and complicated, but the picture looked so delicious I had to try it. It was so surprisingly easy and quick to make, I almost didn’t believe that I almost skipped over this recipe. Plus they are as good as they look! This is a GREAT one for a cookie bar or Bridal Shower. It looks so elegant and tastes soooo good. Plus it’s something almost anyone will love. You just need sugar cookies and a few toppings and viola, it’s desert! I had a lot of fun making this one with my kids and it’s one we like to make in the summer especially! Check out the recipe HERE.
